Welcome to the School of Engineering at Malaysia campus!

The School of Engineering is an integral part of the Faculty of Engineering, Monash University, which is ranked the highest in engineering among all universities in Malaysia. The School offers Bachelor of Engineering programs in Chemical, Electrical & Computer Systems, Mechanical, and Mechatronics Engineering, and they have been fully accredited by both Engineering Accreditation Council (hence by Board of Engineers) Malaysia and Engineers Australia. Our Civil Engineering program, recently introduced in 2014, was accorded a provisional accreditation status by Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia. The high quality of the programs is first underpinned by the undifferentiated degree, ensured by continuous quality improvement (CQI) culture in the spirit of outcome based education (OBE), and further enhanced by a variety of school initiatives which improve student learning experience. The Monash Engineering program further differentiates itself by its Common Engineering Level 1 structure, which not only emphasizes fundamentals but also enables our students to make an informed choice, which matches their interests and benefits their lifelong careers. The multi-cultural and international environment at Monash coupled with industrial training, exchange program to other Monash campuses and global partners, and cross-campus projects helps our students to mature as well-developed modern engineers, not only with expertise in their field of choice, but also with strong soft and leadership skills that meet the future challenges.

Our staff are actively engaged in interdisciplinary research in advanced engineering that addresses national priorities in Malaysia, such as sustainability, energy efficiency, green electronics, nanomaterials, biotechnology, automation and manufacturing. Staff have been awarded numerous external competitive grants from Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and have been publishing in high quality journals. Furthermore, there is a sizable population of PhD and Masters students in our Graduate Research program, which not only contributes to the need of the nation with highly skilled manpower, but also enhances research culture in the School.

The School is highly committed to develop a conducive environment for the best talents in Malaysia and in the region to advance their academic careers. Finally, we are most proud to be able to serve local communities and make contribution to industries in the country.

You are encouraged to browse our website and learn more about life at our School and we would be more than delighted to answer your queries.
