Wind and tidal forces on man made structures have traditionally cause unwanted structural failures. Lately, the study of fluid-structure interaction have moved towards developing ways to harvest energy from structural vibrations caused by fluid induced forces.

The work at Monash University Malaysia attempts to study the galloping phenomenon through theoretical, numerical and experimental modelling. Our aim is to fully realize the energy harvesting potential while understanding the flow physics that govern this process.
